What Are Spider Veins?
Also known as thread veins, spider veins are twisted blood vessels that can be seen through the skin.
They are often red, blue or purple and take their name from their resemblance to spider’s webs.
Spider veins on the legs are the result of damage over time.
They occur when the valves inside our veins weaken and can no longer push blood back to the heart.
The web-like patterns of spider veins are created when blood accumulates in these veins.
