The Alkaline Wash system, available through the Danné Montague King product range is designed to reduce fine, downy hair on the face and other parts of the body. This type of hair is usually dense and difficult to remove using electrolysis or laser hair removal. It is an alkaline powder which is mixed into a paste and then applied onto the skin where hair it to be treated and left for approximately 4-5 minutes. The treatment works by dissolving part of the underlying hair follicle causing the release of the hair so the skin is hair free immediately after treatment. The treatment is totally pain free, although in some cases the area treated can appear red and warm following treatment. Private costs for treatments start from approximately £75 per session, depending on the size of the area being treated.
